There are many great online writing communities to help and support those creating books for children. Here are few that I have found helpful and encouraging. Join in, make some writing friends, share tips and learn the craft.
Writementor is a great place for info, support & competitions, online and on Twitter with some Youtube content. Annual online conference with industry experts. There are online courses available too.
Write Magic hold daily writing sprints on Zoom to get you writing. Friendly and supportive for all stages in the writing journey. Based on Facebook, you need to request to join the group.
There’s an annual membership fee but the Facebook group is free to join. Find a local critique group, enter competitions and there are industry events online and in person.
